Notes
In 1925, Elsa Jemne was hired by the Great Northern Railway to paint images of Glacier National Park and members of the Blackfeet tribe. After spending the summer of 1925 and 1926 in Montana, Jemne maintained an interest in the state and traveled to Montana several more times to paint landscapes. It is possible she journeyed north to Lake O'Hara during one of these visits. According to her daughter Karen, Jemne loved traveling to remote locations. (Source: Object File)
